We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Scientist, Bioconjugates role to be in Spring House, PA.
Purpose:
The Bioconjugates group within Global Discovery Chemistry is a part of Therapeutics Discovery at J&J IM and is engaged in developing novel therapeutics across bioconjugate modalities including Antibody-drug Conjugates (ADCs), Radioligand Therapies (RLTs), and siRNA conjugates.
We are looking for a talented, highly motivated, and technically proficient Antibody Conjugate scientist to become part of our team. The successful candidate will have a background in bioconjugate chemistry, antibody discovery, protein chemistry, or a related field with a record of developing new technologies and achieving research goals on aggressive timelines through effective cross-functional collaboration. They should have experience in discovery or development of targeted therapeutics such as ADCs, peptide/small molecule conjugates, or nucleic acid conjugates (siRNA, antisense, etc.) as well as analytical characterization of these products.
You will be responsible for:
- designing and executing new project ideas (design and execution of studies, analysis of data, presentation of results) to support multiple research programs and provide critical data to inform decisions in a cross-functional team.
- collaborating with the therapeutic areas and other groups to define strategies and deliver stage-appropriate molecules for preclinical studies.
- keeping abreast of new technologies/capabilities relevant to this role and strive to implement them to advance research projects.
- authoring data summaries, technical reports, publications, and presentations.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Education:
- a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, or other related field is required
- a PhD is preferred
Required:
- a minimum of 4 years relevant research experience performing progressively advanced duties is required
- experience with biomolecule purification using automated chromatography systems is required.
- being organized, self-motivated and capable of working independently in a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment is required
- A solid research record demonstrated by patents, publications, or presentations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills is required
- Interest and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be capable of handling multiple tasks while meeting timelines is required
- Ability to lead projects and work productively in an interdisciplinary team environment is required
- Flexibility to adjust priorities over time to meet deadlines is required
Preferred:
- experience with bioconjugation methods, protein biochemistry, and/or peptide chemistry is preferred.
- experience with LC/MS characterization of large molecules is preferred.
