JOB SUMMARY:

Immediate need for a Construction Chemicals Scientist based out of our Innovation and R D Center. Reporting to the Technical Director, the selected individual will provide senior-level research and development expertise to identify, develop, scale up, and commercialize innovative chemical solutions for the construction industry. We seek an experienced individual possessing the ability and creativity to formulate, apply, and evaluate new chemistries for the Concrete Construction Chemicals Market. The successful candidate will collaborate with Product Management to identify trends, market insights, customer needs, new market opportunities, and provide product solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Development of New Products and assimilation of Acquired Products and Technologies in conjunction with Product Management.

Explore, Identify, and Secure Potential New Technology Platforms.

Provide Technical Support for current Product Lines.

Provide Production Support and Maintenance for current Product Lines.

Provide Coaching, Mentoring, and Leading as appropriate.

Organization, cleaning and recordkeeping.

10% Travel

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Industry Presence

Grow toward an Outward Facing Voice and Technical Representative of WR Meadows

Provide Participation and Leadership in Technical Associations such as ASTM, CPI, CRC and the like

Travel with Sales Leaders to watch, listen to WRM customers, end users and influencers

Cross Functional Support

Provide ideas and advice to other scientists and lab members as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent formulation skills.

Experience and familiarity in developing and formulating, including, but not limited to, the below:

Water-based and solvent-based Concrete Sealers

Silicone and Silane Chemistry and Products

Concrete Curing Compounds

Concrete Curing Aids, Accelerators, and Retarders

Dispersions and Emulsions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree in Chemistry

5-10 years of experience formulating construction products or similar items.
