Quality Control Technician - Weekday Days

JOB PURPOSE

The Quality Control Technician is Responsible to assist in developing standards for products that meet customer requirements, communication of the standards and ensuring the product meets the standards of quality including reliability, usability, visual operation, and performance. The Quality Control Technician will also be Responsible for implementing ISO 9000/9001.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, implement, and maintain quality standards/records for the product line.
  • Participation in processing and analysis of customer complaints, nonconforming goods, and corrective/preventive action requests.
  • Work with Returns and repair to document and improve standards through problem solving.
  • Inspect materials using appropriate methods and equipment such as (not limited to) Calipers, Micrometers, Pitch Micrometers, TIR Gage, Air Gage, Height Gages, Thread Gages etc.
  • Provide In-Process Inspections, random and scheduled, to manufacturing to verify quality requirements are being met.
    1. In-Process inspections are to be performed routinely to monitor production processes and parts. Parts may be designated by production for QA verification; however, Quality Inspectors are expected at random unscheduled intervals, select parts from in-process and finished goods bin for validation and verification. (Random sampling)
    2. Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality.
    3. Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
    4. Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards.
    5. Document and establish RMA processes with inside and outside vendors.
    6. Work interdepartmentally to continually improve quality and grow our business.
    7. Implementation of ISO 9000/9001
    8. All other duties, as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum Associates Degree
    • Minimum of 3 years Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Quality inspection, auditing, and testing experience
    • Product or industry-specific experience
    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
    • Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of QA
    • Knowledge of ISO implementation and processes
    • Attention to detail
    • Communication skills - verbal and written
    • Data collection, management, and analysis
    • Problem analysis and problem solving
    • Planning and organizing (5S)
    • Customer service orientation

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Work is performed in a high-volume manufacturing environment, working with chemicals, and handling with both manual and automated equipment and systems; and will involve working in a typical office environment. Specific job assignments may require day, evening, weekend or holiday hours. Overtime is required periodically.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as handing paperwork. Team members will be lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly.

    Must be at least 18 years old.
