The Systems Biology team plays a vital role in this mission through enabling the discovery and molecular understanding of small-molecule therapeutics, and novel payload antibody drug conjugates (ADCs).

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior Scientist on our Systems Biology team, your research will drive a deeper understanding of the mechanism of action of our molecules and cellular targets. You will act as a Chemoproteomics subject matter expert and participate in project teams, providing insight and technical expertise required for project progression. You will also work closely with the Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Oncology Biology groups to innovate and develop the next generation of small-molecule and antibody-drug conjugate therapies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and deploy innovative chemical biology tools, with an emphasis on unbiased proteomic technologies, to advance portfolio projects.

  • Enable small-molecule discovery and hit-to-lead through collaborations with biologists and chemists

  • Actively contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams, including developing experimental plans and communication of results

  • Deploy state-of-the-art chemical biology technologies for target engagement and interactome mapping through chemical probes, thermal stability (CETSA), and proximity methods.

  • Enhance the external reputation of Pfizers Chemical Biology capabilities through publications and presentations at leading conferences

  • Drive innovation in all aspects of laboratory operations including sample preparation, running samples on mass spectrometers, data analysis and interpretation.

MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD in Biological Sciences, Chemical Biology, Proteomics, or a related field.

  • Experience and proficiency with protein biochemistry techniques (e.g., subcellular fractionation, western blot, in-gel fluorescence).

  • Familiarity with biorthogonal chemistry (click) , site-selective protein modification, photoprobes, and activity-based protein profiling (ABPP).

  • Experience with proteomic workflows and data analysis

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Examples of peer-reviewed publications from scientific work to date

  • Experience working in teams of scientists to deliver objectives

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant PhD degree with 3+ years of relevant postdoctoral and/or industry research experience.

  • Experience with data-independent acquisition (DIA) with data processing utilizing DIANN or Spectronaut.

  • Experience with automated sample preparation (Bravo AssayMAP, Kingfisher).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of oncology and discovery of small-molecule therapeutics.

Work Location Assignment: Hybrid

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,900.00 to $151,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
