The Opportunity:

The Defense Technology Group focuses on leveraging Booz Allen's leadership and expertise in technical project management to deliver the best solutions capable of meeting the needs of the most demanding, innovative, and cutting-edge clients in the Department of Defense.

We are seeking a Materials Engineer to support advanced microsystems research at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency ( DARPA ) with a primary focus on battery technologies.

What Youll Work On:

• Serve as a strategic technical consult ant to DARPA program managers, advising on program direction and technology selection.

• Apply your expertise in battery research, including materials, chemical interactions, design, and material lifetime challenges, to support the creation and execution of government-funded R & D programs.

• Provide strategic assessments of emerging technologies and support independent verification and validation activities.

• Assist in producing and presenting findings and recommendations to Agency leadership and the broader scientific community regarding the feasibility and impact of future research programs.

• Help manage current research programs and facilitate the transition of program deliverables to Department of Defense stakeholders.

You Have:

• Experience with modeling and simulation tools for materials research

• Ability to develop technical documents and presentations

• Secret clearance

• Masters degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry and 3+ years of experience in battery chemistry and materials research, or Bachelors degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry and 5+ years of experience in battery chemistry and materials research

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with Department of Defense research and development programs

• Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines with minimal oversight

• Ability to pay strict attention to detail

• Possession of excellent organization and client service skills

• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and editing

• TS / SCI clearance

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individuals particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allens total compensation package for employees.
