The Chorover laboratory seeks a full-time postdoctoral scholar to support on a Strategic Environmental Research and Development (SERDP) project focusing on the use of engineered colloidal polymeric sorbents for the remedial uptake and retention of poly- and per-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in porous geomedia.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe postdoctoral scholar will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- organicsynthesis of colloidal polymers
- column experiments to measure the reactivetransport and adhesion of colloidal polymers in sand media representative ofaquifer solids
- column and batch experiments to quantify the uptake of various PFAS species
- data analysis
- manuscript writing
- graduatestudent mentoring
- Must have a Ph.D.in environmental science, soil science, chemistry, hydrology, or a relatedfield upon hire.
- Demonstrated capabilities for conducting bench-scale environmentalchemistry experiments.
- Prior experience with liquid-chromatography tandem massspectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methods for analysis of various PFAS species.
- Expertise in conducting highly precise solute transport experiments for porous media at bench scale.
- Prior experience with multiple reaction monitoring experiments using LC-MS/MS.
