Lab Technician

Location: Naperville, Illinois (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

The Lab Technician will perform a variety of routine laboratory operations under the technical direction of a supervisor. The role will primarily support a senior researcher focused on synthesis and involves end-to-end work from synthesis to formulation and application.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform polymerization, organic synthesis, and ion exchange resin development.
• Conduct hands-on wet bench chemistry, handle chemicals, and prepare solutions and dilutions.
• Assist in maintaining the productivity and organization of the research laboratory.
• Perform routine analytical characterization and data analysis.
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and recommend improvements.
• Assemble test materials and equipment to expedite test procedures.
• Record test results accurately and concisely in a laboratory notebook.
• Assist in analyzing and interpreting experimental data.
• Maintain a clean and safe work facility.

Required Qualifications

Education: A B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is required.

Experience: Hands-on organic synthesis lab experience is necessary for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory practices, scientific terminology, and chemical hygiene.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to establish and meet deadlines to produce independent results.
• Capability to work well with other team members.
• Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
• Comfort handling hazardous materials.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour. A benefits package is available to eligible employees.
