Location (mandatory): Granville Ohio 43023 The Binder Sciences Laboratory actively participates in a team focused on delivering innovative binder systems and products to the Insulation market. This role provides technical support for fundamental research by performing chemical preparations and testing laboratory prototypes. In addition, the role will provide laboratory testing expertise for scale-up trials in Client's Newark manufacturing facility. This role reports to the Binder Sciences Laboratory Leader in the Insulation R D Organization. Job Responsibilities: Commits to OC's Safety Stand: All accidents are preventable, safety is everyone's responsibility, and working safely is a condition of employment. Ensures rigorous compliance with standard safety procedures and OC corporate policies. Actively participates in monthly safety meetings and Job Hazard Analysis. Practices good housekeeping habits. Performs laboratory and application testing and applies understanding of standard test methods to effectively test binder and products. Conducts laboratory experiments as designed by lead investigators. Documents and communicates results with lead investigators in a timely and accurate manner. Supports non-standard testing to identify and quantify product/material performance in novel applications. Able to effectively balance assignments across one or more projects. Complies with all plant safety policies and procedures. Applies understanding of standard trial test methods to effectively test physical and chemical properties. Reports test results to the trial lead in a timely manner to inform on-the-fly decision making. Complies with OC's requirement to protect confidential information including trade secrets, proprietary formulations, processes, and test methods. Skills: Experience in a laboratory environment. Experience with common productivity software such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Hands-on aptitude and ability to support rapid prototyping. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based research environment. Ability to design, build, and troubleshoot measurement systems based on Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi platforms, including sensor integration and data acquisition. Experience in an R D or manufacturing environment. Education/Experience: Associate's degree in technical field. Bachelor's degree in chemistry, material science, or other technical field.
