Medical Laboratory Technician

Minimum Experience/EducationHigh school diploma or equivalency and one year of laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require compliance with current Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Regulations.Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, EducationGraduation from an accredited MLT/MT/MLS program and successful completion of a national certification exam by the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent agency.Bachelors degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biological Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.Knowledge of laboratory principles, procedures, and communication skills typically acquired through formal training and professional experience.Required License or CertificationGraduation from an accredited MLT/MT/MLS program with successful completion of a national certification exam administered by the ASCP Board of Registry or an equivalent agency.Position OverviewPrimary Purpose of PositionThis position supports patient care by providing accurate medical laboratory diagnostic and therapeutic information. The role is responsible for performing routine laboratory tests on human body fluids and tissues to generate reliable data for the healthcare team.
