The Analytical Chemist will be responsible for supporting government customers within the Propulsion Division to evalue novel and legacy energetic merials and formulions. Primary responsibilities to include characterizion of organic compounds and polymers using ste-of-the-art analytical and instrumental techniques for safety, compositional, and other desired merial property informion. Primary Responsibilities. Analyze merials of interest to the U.S. Army, and execute research protocols in support of research, development, and production objectives. Interact with outside customers, vendors, and researchers to support contracted and subcontracted projects. Test, evalue, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install, and calibre equipment to perform merial testing. Maintain inventory of consumables and chemicals needed to perform merial testing. Support acquisition of new equipment through market research, purchase, and installion. Establish standard opering procedures for the safe and effective operion of merial testing. Collect, organize, and perform da analysis, and verify/correct da entry. Maintain clear and accure logbooks; collect and record detailed observions about experiments. Assist with preparion of technical reports, summaries, posters, da presention, and protocols. Conduct literure searches on identified topics relevant to current laborory practices/protocols. Maintain compliance with established laborory health and safety guidelines, as well as established methods/procedures. Basic Qualificions. Bachelor's degree in chemistry or reled field with 2-4 years of relevant experience. Skills should include a foundional and theoretical understanding of general scientific principles. Hands-on experience with ste-of-the-art analytical tools and techniques required. Experience with thermal stability analysis, microscopy, chromography, spectroscopy, and physical property testing required. Candides must demonstre the ability to interact and effectively communice both written and orally with a wide variety of people. Must be able to work in a team-based environment. US citizenship is required. Preferred Qualificions. Computer literacy, Microsoft Office proficiency, and working knowledge of stistical software are preferred.
