MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement:

1. Experience with quantitative, spatial, or predictive data analytics.
2. Experience modeling scientific systems including one or more of the following: physics, geophysics, geology, and/or geoscience.
3. Experience with coding or algorithm development, including but not limited to, Fortran, C/C++, IDL, R, Python, SQL, Visual Basic, or UNIX scripting

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Geodesy, Mathematics, Physical Science, or a related discipline that includes at least 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework in any combination of Astronomy, Cartography, Computer Science, Earth Science, Engineering Science, Geodesy, Geology, Geomatics, Geophysics, Mathematics, Meteorology, Orbital Mechanics, Photogrammetry, Physical Science, Physics, Remote Sensing, or Surveying. Coursework must include differential and integral calculus. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in conducting work related to Geodesy, Geophysics, Geoscience Modeling, Geodetic Surveying or a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Near visual acuity of 20/60 or better with or without corrective lenses

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:

1. Completion of advanced coursework in or professional experience with: Advanced Calculus, Linear Algebra, Ordinary Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, Signal Processing, Numerical Analysis, Complex Variables, Mathematical Modeling, Geodesy, Advanced Statistics, Vector Analysis, Numerical Methods, Fourier Analysis, or Potential Theory
2. Experience with mathematical, statistical, or scientific software, including but not limited to, MATLAB, Mathematica, Surfer, Fledermaus, STK, ENVI, or Python.
3. Experience visually conveying scientific results, through images, diagrams, tables, charts, and/or models.
4. Experience learning and implementing new technology or software
5. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team to solve problems
6. Experience adapting to changing requirements and timelines.
