Your Role:
EMD Serono in Billerica, MA is seeking a Sr. Associate Scientist - Analytical Chemistry to add to their Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Group (DDTech).
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the upstream and downstream analysis of chemically modified oligonucleotides
* LCMS-interpretation of oligonucleotide characterization like peak interpretation and purity analysis
* Prepare samples, buffers, mobile phase and reagents for routine analysis
* Assist in the physicochemical experiments (thermal denaturing) Tm experiment of oligonucleotides
* Assist in the operation of Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) system; learn and work on the system
* Support analytical method development, optimization and troubleshooting
* Maintain a report on experimental procedures and findings in electronic lab notebooks
* Use of pH meter, Nanodrop to record data
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other Engineering or Life Science discipline
* 2+ years of experience in oligonucleotide field
OR
* Master's Degree Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other Engineering or Life Science discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with HPLC/UPLC and LCMS-based analytical methods and instruments
* Hands-on experience with oligonucleotides like ASO's and siRNAs
* Familiarity with software including Waters Empower, Mass Hunter, and UNIFI
* Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment
* Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and collaboration
Pay Range for this position: $95,900 - $143,800
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
