Overview: Independently performs laborory procedures for which the technologist has been trained and demonstred competency. Independently performs laborory testing on pients of all ages using professional knowledge of laborory procedures, executing, interpreting and/or analyzing, in an accure and timely manner. In addition, oversees the technical activities of the section or department in the absence of the lead or supervisor.

Qualificions:Educion
- H.S. Diploma or General Educion Degree (GED) plus a sufficient number of college and/or technical school courses and clinical training to sisfy the requirements for testing and certificion as a medical technologist by an approved certifying agency. Required
- Bachelors Degree in clinical laborory science, biomedical science, medical technology or in a life / biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) Preferred
- 3 years in a clinical laborory setting Required
- Certificion as a medical technologist or medical laborory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Phologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Associion of Bioanalysts) according to the qualificions through the Ste of Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laborory regulions. - A person who recently moved into the ste of Georgia may be temporarily classified as technologists for eighteen (18) months only to afford the person an opportunity to successfully complete an approved qualifying examinion. within 1-1/2 Yrs Required
