Research Scientist III Location: Redmond, Washington Duration: 12+ months Contract Pay Range: $60-$70/hour on W2 Job ID: 177288 Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Scientist III to join our team in Redmond, Washington. This role involves working on cutting-edge research and development in the field of virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR). The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and automation of workflows for experimental screening of organic materials, as well as the development of next-generation optoelectronic materials. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AR/VR technology and collaborate with a world-class team of researchers and engineers. Responsibilities: Design, build, and automate workflows for experimental screening of organic materials to streamline data acquisition for novel optoelectronic materials development.

Develop advanced design, fabrication, and analysis techniques for next-generation optoelectronic materials.

Collaborate with the larger research team to address current goals, limitations, and bottlenecks in the AR/VR space.

Work with and develop an in-depth understanding of high-throughput experimental equipment.

Design and automate novel crystal growth, processing, and analysis techniques for specific components and devices.

Communicate research results internally and with external partners.

Assist in translating research findings into practical applications for product development.

Qualifications: PhD or Master's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Optical Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical field.

Work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and ongoing work authorization during employment.

Experience programming hardware interfaces (e.g., serial/I2C/SPI communication, DAQ systems, motion control) using Python, LabVIEW, C, or similar languages.

2+ years of experience in areas such as chemistry, materials, organic materials, crystallization, nucleation, solid-state analysis, or optoelectronic materials.

2+ years of hands-on experimental laboratory work experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Proven track record of significant achievements demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, or first-authored publications in high-impact journals.

Experience with solid-state analysis techniques such as diffuse reflectance, XRD, spectroscopy, DSC, and optical microscopy.

Familiarity with crystallographic software (e.g., CCDC suite, BGMN, Profex, Olex2).

Experience with HPLC, LC-MS, UV/Vis, and/.

Strong cross-functional communication and teamwork skills.

Experience with crystal growth and related concepts such as supersaturation and nucleation.
