Client Overview:
Our client is a mid-sized pharmaceutical manufacturer focused on developing and producing specialty and controlled-release generic medications. They are looking to add a Quality Control Chemist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$80k - $100k
Position Overview:
The Quality Control Chemist will perform routine release and stability testing on solid oral dosage forms using standard laboratory analytical techniques. This role supports product quality through testing for potency, purity, and physical performance, while ensuring compliance with cGMP and laboratory safety standards.
Responsibilities of the Quality Control Chemist:
- Prepare solid dosage samples for analysis by accurately weighing, blending, and homogenizing materials to ensure representative testing of small molecule generic drug products.
- The Quality Control Chemist will conduct dissolution testing of oral solid dosage forms using USP Apparatus I and II to evaluate product performance.
- Perform HPLC-based analytical testing to assess potency, purity, and dissolution samples for pharmaceutical components.
- The Quality Control Chemist will carry out KF water content testing using a Karl Fischer titrator to support product quality assessments.
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation, ensure compliance with GLP/GMP standards and SOPs, and document all results accurately to uphold data integrity and safety standards.
Required Experience/Skills for the Quality Control Chemist:
- Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, Dissolution, KF titration.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Quality Control Chemist:
- 2+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is required.
