Position: Scientist, LNP Discovery [Req #K1500]

Location: 20 Overland Street, Suite A, Boston, MA 02215

Duties: Develop and lead Strands mRNA delivery platform by designing and optimizing (lipid) nanoparticle formulations. Characterize and evaluate the physical characteristics and therapeutic indices of (lipid) nanoparticle formulations and components using standard or newly developed in-house assays. Product (lipid) nanoparticle formulations to support internal and partnered programs. Research and identify new opportunities and novel project ideas related to mRNA delivery that support Strands vision. Maintain and establish new relationships with outside collaborators which provide access to proprietary (lipid) nanoparticle. Write study protocols, technical reports and SOPs that support the drug discovery efforts of Strand. Interact with IP counsel/consultants to assist with patent prosecution.

Educational and Experience Requirements: Doctorate degree or foreign equivalent in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Alternative Educational and Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Skill Requirements: Knowledge of and/or experience with (can be gained through education and/or experience):

-Production and analytical characterization of (RNA) lipid nanoparticles required.
-In vitro/in vivo screenings and evaluations of lipid nanoparticles.
-Development of tissue/cell targeting lipid nanoparticles.
Familiarity with process development, and/or regulatory aspects of RNA lipid nanoparticle products.
Knowledge of the scientific literature in the field of mRNA delivery.
