Kelly Science is seeking an Analytical R&D Chemist for a growing company located in Farmingdale, NY. This is a 3-6 month contract to start, there may be potential for an extension or to be hired on permanently. Although that is not guaranteed at this time.

 

Pay: $42/hour

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Employment Type: 3-6 month contract

 

Summary:

The Research Chemist will play an integral role in the team by using knowledge in skills in developing new quality procedures, perform method validation and method optimization, testing wide range of products and reporting results, training fellow team members, providing status updates to the supervisor and/or laboratory manager.

 

Job Duties Include:



    	
  • Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods.

    	
  • Improve and redesign test procedures for new and existing products.

    	
  • Perform sample testing and product analysis using wet chemistry and instruments (e.g., TLC, UV/Vis, FTIR, HPLC, ICP, ICPMS, GC, GCMS).

    	
  • Support laboratory operations through reagent preparation and glassware management.

    	
  • Stay informed on industry trends and recommend R&D strategies.

    	
  • Complete special assignments as needed.

    	
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines, both independently and with a team.

    	
  • Communicate results clearly and utilize diverse research sources.

 

Qualifications:



    	
  • Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.

    	
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience. Must have experience with routine testing AND analytical method development/optimization utilizing HPLC, ICP, ICPMS, GC, and/or GCMS.

    	
  • Previous experience with nutraceuticals is a plus
