Scientist I - In Vivo Pharmacology (Respiratory Disease Research)
Fully Onsite | Cambridge, MA | Temp Opportunity
Pay: Up to 60/hr depending on education and relevant experience level
Position Summary
Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a notable global biopharmaceuticalanization known for advancing innovative therapies through cutting-edge immunology, respiratory disease, and translational research programs.
We are seeking a Scientist I to support in vivo pharmacology studies focused on respiratory disease models, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This role will be responsible for designing, executing, analyzing, and presenting preclinical pharmacology studies that support drug discovery and development efforts.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on in vivo pharmacology experience, strong animal handling and dosing skills, and a proven ability to generate high-quality scientific data within a regulated research environment.
Key Responsibilities
In Vivo Pharmacology Studies
Design and execute in vivo pharmacology experiments supporting project and program objectives
Conduct respiratory disease studies, including cigarette smoke-induced COPD models
Perform animal dosing using multiple administration routes, including:
Subcutaneous (SC)
Intranasal (IN)
Additional routine dosing techniques as required
Preparepounds, formulations, and reagents for study execution
Sample Collection & Data Generation
Perform blood collection procedures and tissue harvesting
Collect, document, and analyze study data
Ensure accurate recording of experimental observations and study oues
Generate high-quality scientific data to support decision-making
Data Analysis & Scientific Communication
Analyze and interpret experimental results
Prepare study reports and scientific summaries
Present findings to project teams and cross-functional stakeholders
Communicate study oues within established timelines
Model Development & Experimental Support
Support development and refinement of disease-relevant in vivo models
Assist with troubleshooting studies and experimental procedures
established methodologies while contributing to process improvements and novel approaches
Serve as a technical contributor within multidisciplinary project teams
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain meticulous laboratory records and documentation
Ensurepliance with animal welfare regulations and institutional guidelines
Follow all federal, local, andpany policies regarding animal research
Maintain accurate andpliant laboratory notebooks and study records
Required Qualifications
Education
Master's Degree with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant biopharmaceutical research experience
OR
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of relevant biopharmaceutical research experience
Required Experience
Hands-on in vivo pharmacology experience
Experience designing and executing animal studies
Experience with routine animal dosing procedures
Blood collection experience
Tissue collection and harvest experience
Compound and reagent preparation experience
Experience working within biopharmaceutical or biotechnology research environments
Required Technical Skills
In vivo study execution
Animal handling and welfarepliance
Data collection and scientific documentation
Experimental troubleshooting
Scientific report preparation
Presentation of scientific findings
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting COPD studies
Experience with cigarette smoke-induced COPD models
Respiratory disease research experience
Experience with:
Asthma models
Fibrosis models
Atopic dermatitis models
Immunology disease models
Experience supporting translational or discovery research programs
