Your Role: Leadership-Focused, Client-Centered, and Technically Driven
As a Construction Materials Engineer in Columbus, OH, you will lead and support field inspection and laboratory testing operations for geotechnical and construction projects. Your work will help ensure compliance, uphold quality standards, and mentor rising professionals in the field.
What You'll Do:
Supervise geotechnical and materials testing projects from planning through final documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance
Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and deliver exceptional service
Provide leadership and mentorship to field staff, emphasizing safety and skill development
Coordinate with internal teams and lab personnel to ensure smooth project execution
Help grow our market presence by building lasting client relationships and contributing to business development goals
What We're Looking For:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field
A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspections, geotechnical services, or special inspections
A Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one within six months
A strong grasp of ASTM, AASHTO, DOT procedures, and IBC Special Inspections
A willingness to work in field conditions, safely handle equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs
What to Expect:
With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Primarily outdoor work across changing weather conditions
Walking on uneven terrain and standing for extended hours (up to 12 hours/day)
Lifting and moving 40-50 lbs of tools, equipment, and samples
Transporting field equipment, such as wheelbarrows, around active job sites
