JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Functions

Ensuring optimal analytical testing for the flavor development process, including sample preparation, sample analysis via GC, GC/MS, and LC, and reporting results to flavor development staff. This role supports forensic analysis of food and beverage products to determine the flavor analyte composition for flavor duplication in various CPG products.

1. Establish and develop analytical reporting for flavor development for Company

2. Conduct analytical tests on raw materials, final products and customer samples concerning previously unknown flavorings, their presence, storage, degradation etc., and recording and maintaining this in the global database.

3. Prepare and standardize solutions, reagents, and samples according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)

4. Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments

5. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment by following established cleaning protocols, including cleaning and properly storing glassware.

6. Monitor laboratory supplies and notify the team when replenishment is required.

7. Learn and utilize GCA software, OpenLab, Empower, and all required programs to run samples and effectively process data.

8. Conduct sample preparation exercises including extraction, and analysis preparation for SPME, or direct injection to support the forensic discovery of aroma molecules in food and beverage

9. Maintaining consumables to ensure reporting accuracy, conducting instrumentation maintenance, and developing expertise in new instrumentation, sample preparation methods, and reporting to expand current capabilities.

10. Establish timely reporting process which can be used for the framework for the flavor duplication process

11. Manage projects effectively and participate in daily project meetings to prioritize workload.

Required Qualifications

1. B.S in Chemistry or relative degree.

2. 1-3 years of relevant laboratory experience.

3. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow procedures accurately.

4. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
