Position Description

UM's Department of Biology is a broad-based department that consists of 23 tenure-track and 19 instructional faculty, who educate over 900 undergraduate biology majors and 55 graduate students (Ph.D. and M.S.). The successful candidate will join an instructional team educating over 3500 non-majors students, with all laboratories and many lectures being taught in the Duff Center for Science and Technology Innovation(CSTI). The CSTI is a STEM education facility which opened in August 2024. A technical personnel is needed to support research in the area of multi-omics. This person is going to be tasked with plant maintenance, lab maintenance, and is going to extract proteins and metabolites from duckweed, Arabidopsis and other samples for mass spectrometry based proteomics and metabolomics.

  • research materials,
  • assisting in protein and metabolite extraction,
  • processing samples and conduct data analysis of proteomics and metabolomics,
  • summarizing and reporting results to the lab team and PI, as well as drafting manuscript for publication
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree

Recent graduates with experience in analytical chemistry are preferred for this position.
