Job Title: Chemist

Job Description

This role involves conducting various property testing such as FTIR, Karl Fischer moisture content, NMR, dissolvibility, tear/tensile strength testing, and solubility testing. The chemist will be responsible for documenting data/results, equipment calibration, and attending R&D meetings. The position requires performing bench and wet chemistry testing, alongside analytical testing based on product and project work, while being guided by a mentor who designates the types of tests and work to be done.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct property testing including FTIR, Karl Fischer moisture content, NMR, dissolvibility, tear/tensile strength, and solubility.
  • Document data and results accurately.
  • Perform equipment calibration and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend and actively participate in R&D meetings.
  • Collaborate with a mentor to determine test types and work assignments.
  • Engage in bench and wet chemistry testing as well as analytical testing.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in chemistry and laboratory practices.
  • Strong experience in wet chemistry and analytical chemistry.
  • Experience with data entry and inspection processes.
  • R&D involvement and understanding of testing procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering preferred; other STEM degrees with strong polymer experience are acceptable.
  • 3+ years of polymer experience in any industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of lab work and testing/projects.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to share and develop ideas.

Work Environment

The lab is spread across three floors of a modern office building, ensuring a clean and pleasant work space. Facilities include break rooms, vending machines, locker rooms, and snacks available on-site. The work environment is highly collaborative and innovative, with opportunities to engage with various groups focused on technological advancements and application enhancements. Parking is available on-site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
