Research Chemist

The Research Chemist is responsible for assisting in the research and development of new laboratory methods and improving existing processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development/ validation of new methods and the improvement/ validation of existing methods within the laboratory
• Aid in the assimilation of new methods and technologies as required
• Assist in the development of new maintenance programs for laboratory instruments
• Help staff to understand details and importance of maintenance
• Assist in staff training on:
  • Instrumentation use
  • Methods application
  • Analytical chemistry fundamentals
• Aid in the documentation of cost/test of new or modified methods
• Assist Research Scientists in special method development and troubleshooting of production methods as required

Successful Candidates Must Possess:

Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical, Medicinal or Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology Sciences, or related field required

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience including GC/MS, LC/MS/MS required
• Method development, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation experience preferred
• Experience in forensic analytical toxicology preferred
