Our mission is to make biology easier to engineer. Ginkgo is constructing, editing, and redesigning the living world in order to answer the globe's growing challenges in health, energy, food, materials, and more. Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our Antibody Developability team. The successful candidate will contribute to the preclinical evaluation of therapeutic antibody candidates by performing in vitro and biophysical assays to assess key developability properties such as stability, aggregation propensity, solubility, viscosity, and expression. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment focused on advancing biologics from discovery to development. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine procedures associated with the production, preparation, or characterization (e.g., SEC, DLS, DSF, UV/Vis, HIC) of antibodies for internal and customer projects. Maintain accurate and detailed electronic laboratory notebooks and experimental records. Present outcomes and observations from experiments to other subject matter experts. Support assay validation and transfer to internal and external partners as needed. Qualifications: B.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or initial training in a lab-based environment. High degree of personal responsibility Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred: Experience working in a lab-based or highly operational environment. Experience with antibody or protein characterization in an industry or academic setting. Exposure to analytical instrumentation (e.g., UPLC, MALS, mass spectrometry) is a plus.
