Novel Laboratories, Inc. seeks a Chemist in Somerset, New Jersey to conduct chemical analysis. Evaluate chemical test results and decide the acceptability of the samples based on the test results. Maintain accurate lab notebooks and complete analytical reports, write summaries, and keep proper documentation in compliance with SOPs. Maintain laboratories with good housekeeping practices and in compliance with cGMP. Design and develop test methods, perform experimental tests, and evaluate performances for pharmaceuticals. Write protocols and reports for method validation, method development, and investigation reports using Microsoft Word. Establish test specifications. Analyze and interpret chemical analysis results in written and oral format. Perform analytical tests including identification, dissolution, assay, content uniformity, stratified control unit (CU), CU by weight variation, organic impurities, density, and pH, water content. Use analytical instruments including pH meter, density meter, dissolution apparatus, UV spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, HPLC, and Karl Fischer Titrator. Use Microsoft Excel to calculate laboratory results and perform trending analyses. Perform calibration of analytical instruments. Follow all SOPs and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with a cGMP environment. Utilize Empower-3 software to process analytical data. Detect and report laboratory events and OOS/OOT/OOE investigations to laboratory management. Annual salary: $81,860.74. Requirements: Master's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field plus one year of chemical analysis experience.
