Position Summary Under the direction of theManager of Transfusion Service, provides technical guidance to staff andcustomers of the Transfusion Service. Assists in quality activities,technical and equipment troubleshooting, and supports the developmentand maintenance of the transfusion service computer systems. Performsimmunohematology testing on patient samples and provides the correctblood product for transfusion based on these results. Performs componentpreparation as ordered by the provider to ensure the correct product isissued for transfusion. Provides the most appropriate blood in a timelyand accurate manner and provides phone consultation to customers Thisposition has developed and demonstrated a level of quality and technicalcompetence that allows for completing work in a highly independent andefficient manner, handling complex technical/equipment issues, andassists in performing final review.
