Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Thermal Laboratory Technician to join our team in Trexlertown, PA. You will support the accurate and timely thermal and analytical testing of both routine and non-routine samples. This hands-on role supports testing efforts, including material properties, and requires working with high-temperature polymers, as well as measuring melt flow, calorimetry, rheology, and viscosity.
Rate: $28-$33/hr + benefits offered + PTO accrued & holiday pay
Schedule: Standard site hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (flexible +/- 30 minutes)
What You'll Do:
Sample Testing, Analysis & Reporting:
Operate polymer testing equipment involving high temperatures and forces
Perform wet chemistry techniques and analytical testing
Follow technical procedures and material testing standards (ISO, ASTM, internal)
Generate lab reports and review lab procedures
Maintain lab data systems, logbooks, and test records
Troubleshoot equipment and support improvements or repairs
Understand and shift testing priorities based on lab workload
Coordinate lab projects and support cross-functional teams
Lab & Team Support:
Assist with SOPs, hazard reviews, and documentation
Mentor/train other team members and model positive lab practices
Provide input on improving lab procedures and documentation gaps
Communicate effectively with internal customers and team leaders
Proactively support lab quality programs and compliance efforts
Environmental, Safety, Health & Security (ESHS):
Follow all ESHS guidelines, policies, and procedures
Complete required ESHS training and participate in safety initiatives
Use appropriate tools and knowledge before performing any tasks
Identify hazards, provide coaching, and uphold a safety-first culture
What you need to qualify:
Associate Degree in Material Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
2-4 years of experience in thermal testing and wet chemistry
Hands-on experience with high-temperature polymers
Strong mechanical aptitude
Demonstrated ability to follow and interpret SOPs, ISO, and ASTM testing procedures
Proven method development skills and analytical problem-solving
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, Teams)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
Able to wear required PPE, climb stairs, and work overtime as needed
