Key Responsibilities:
Lead subsystem scale-up of patented electrochemical CNT production process
Design, select, and optimize process equipment and manufacturing layouts
Develop and execute process validation and quality control protocols
Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, implementing rapid, effective solutions
Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and team leadership to align technical progress with business strategy
Prepare process documentation, SOPs, and commissioning protocols along with clear technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians
Support technology scaling from pilot to full-scale systems
Near-Term Focus Areas:
Perform mass and energy balance calculations for scale-up design
Develop and update PFDs and P&IDs
Size and source process equipment (pumps, exchangers, vessels, etc.)
Design and execute prototype testing and improvement experiments
Tune process control loops and collaborate with automation engineers, mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers
Qualifications:
US citizenship required (due to federal contract work)
B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field
5-10 years of process engineering experience in advanced materials, chemicals, or related sectors
Demonstrated success in process scale-up and systems troubleshooting
Proficiency with process simulation, design tools, and manufacturing best practices
Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
Experience with safety and regulatory compliance (a plus)
Familiarity with LabVIEW, PLCs, or process control systems (a plus)
