Position Title:Product Development Engineer

Job Duties:
Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Create test flows for screening and characterization. Translate test and characterization plans into a test program. Deliver critical data on yield, performance, and reliability in collaboration with AMDs foundry partners. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
Requirements: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Position requires experience in the following:
Programming in C, C++, or Python;
ATE testing and equipment;
Linux or Windows internals;
Product development cycles;
Performing hardware verification;
Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;
Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification;
Test emulation and waveform analysis;
Analyzing correlation between electrical wafer attributes and inline parameters; and
SCAN and BIST test data analysis.
Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
