Medical Technologist Laboratory Scientist

**Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Clinical Laboratory Services at Providence Holy Family Hospital**

The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist will analyze biologic specimens of human origin in order to quantify or qualify clinically relevant properties. Integrates and transmits information so derived in an effort to assist in the diagnosis or monitoring of human disease. Work assignments are generally not given project-by-project; rather, a moderately wide range and variety of work activities and processes are required to bring assignments to completion. Work processes and assignments frequently require the incumbent to interpret and apply operating procedures or technical standards to problems of moderate complexity. Reports to Lab Manager.

This is an on-call or supplemental position working variable shifts.

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree

+ Certified as an ASCP Board of Certification Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist, or equivalent

+ Recent graduates must obtain ASCP Board Certification Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent certification within 90 days of hire

+ Sufficient experience to enable the employee to work effectively in commonplace work situations and to provide working knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, methods, and techniques of laboratory medicine

+ One (1) year of Medical Technology internship

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
