Posting Summary
Rutgers Law School seeks to hire a Full-Time Rapid Response Immigration Attorney to begin immediately. The Attorney can be based in Newark or Camden, New Jersey. The attorney will provide immigration representation to Rutgers' immigrant and international students at risk of detention and deportation. The attorney must be an experienced immigration attorney with expertise in deportation defense and the filing of federal lawsuits, including temporary restraining orders, habeas motions, and other emergent filings. This person's primary job would be to prepare and plan for the immediate and emergent needs of Rutgers immigrant and international students and to represent these students until alternate counsel can be obtained.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
JD, licensed to practice law in New Jersey or another state and willingness to become admitted into the NJ Bar, bilingual (English/Spanish)
Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in immigration law, excellent oral and written communication skills. and expertise in deportation defense and the filing of federal lawsuits, including temporary restraining orders, habeas motions, and other emergent filings
Preferred Qualifications Equipment Utilized
Basic computer and word processing skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Desk job with some travel to court, detention centers, and meetings
