Position Overview: Virology Team - Product Development, Science & Technology

AbbVie's Product Development, Science & Technology Virology team is seeking dynamic candidates to support both pipeline and commercially available products. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities across the product lifecycle, from late-stage process development and BLA/NDA submissions to ongoing market support. Key responsibilities for the role:

• Viral Control Strategies: Develop and implement comprehensive viral control strategies, ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
• Innovative Solutions: Lead the innovation and optimization of new methods, techniques, and experimental approaches to address challenges in viral safety, control, and testing.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Build and maintain effective collaborations with various scientific disciplines. Your work will focus on establishing improved process conditions, enhancing viral control, and refining regulatory strategies.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster an environment of open, honest, and candid communication to drive creative, continuous improvements across the team.

• Virology Support and Method Enhancement: Provide expert support in virology, particularly involving animal-sourced APIs. Execute and refine quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) and in vitro cell culture virus infectivity assays for continuous improvement.
• Scientific Documentation: Author and review scientific reports and regulatory submissions, ensuring they meet regulatory and accuracy standards.
• BSL-2 Facility Operations: Conduct research involving potentially biohazardous viruses in BioSafety Level 2 (BSL-2) facilities, strictly adhering to safety protocols to maintain a secure laboratory environment.
