Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description

The Quality Control Technician will conduct analytical testing on incoming raw materials and finished products. Responsibilities include performing basic titrations, utilizing GC and GC headspace techniques, and working with NIR instrumentation. The role also involves creating shipping materials for the warehouse, fulfilling sample requests, method development, equipment calibration, and updating general lab equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Create shipping materials for the warehouse.
  • Fulfill sample requests throughout the day.
  • Participate in method development and equipment calibration.
  • Update general laboratory equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • Extensive coursework in analytical chemistry.
  • Proficiency in quality control, chemistry, GC, and NIR.
  • 3-5 years of quality control or laboratory experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with auto-titrators, FTIR, refractometer, spectrophotometer, HPLC.
  • Skills in validation and method development.
  • Organizational and prioritizing abilities.
  • Good laboratory practices.
  • Proficient computer data entry skills.
  • Safe handling of laboratory reagents.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Work Environment

The position operates on a second shift schedule, Monday to Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, with an initial training period on the first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm for at least six months. The second shift includes a 5% shift differential. The work is conducted in a well-equipped lab with a variety of instruments including GCs and NIR equipment. The team consists of 40 employees at the Janesville location, part of a national team of 75-80 employees.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.13 - $30.13/hr.
