Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Description

This role requires providing technical expertise for established processes, driving continuous improvement through data analysis, and leading the design and implementation of new or modified processes. The ideal candidate will manage key performance metrics, including ESHS, quality, cycle time, and equipment availability, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and customers. A strong foundation in core engineering disciplines such as mixing, material science, heat and mass transfer, filtration, and drying is essential. Responsibilities also include identifying and executing projects to alleviate capacity constraints, supporting capital planning, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations. The Process Engineer will serve as a technical expert, contribute to documentation and policy development, and mentor others to uphold operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide process engineering support for established processes and initiate continuous improvement through data analysis.
  • Design, implement, and support new process introductions, scale-ups, or process modifications.
  • Manage ESHS, quality, cycle time, and equipment availability requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with customers and project teams.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in core process engineering disciplines such as mixing, material science, heat transfer, mass transfer, filtration, and drying.
  • Understand site capacity constraints and identify projects to streamline and remove bottlenecks to increase productivity.
  • Provide recommendations regarding capital planning to support equipment reliability, new processing equipment or technologies, new chemical handling capabilities, and/or industry competitiveness.
  • Serve as a project leader to implement improvements as identified.
  • Stay current and be recognized as a resource on regulations, engineering standards, policies and procedures, and good engineering practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement of business processes within the site.
  • Act as a technical expert for plant-specific systems.
  • Assist in the writing and technical review of production policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve engineering technical documents.
  • Develop and assist others to efficiently and accurately execute all job responsibilities.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, related engineering, or Chemistry discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Process Engineer supporting GMP facilities.
  • Experience implementing new procedures and equipment for plants.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, chemicals, oil & gas, and manufacturing engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in process improvement, process engineering, plant engineering, CAPEX, and project management.
  • Experience in design engineering and layout design.

Work Environment

The position involves working on-site in a manufacturing environment within the plant. This opportunity offers growth within the company, which is the largest manufacturing site for API in the nation, and second largest in the world. API refers to chemical ingredients.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $57.00/hr.
