As our new Laboratory Technician, with the outstanding President Street Plant Team, you will perform laboratory analyses on wastewater and surface water samples, in accordance with state regulations and laboratory operating procedures, maintaining our high environmental standards and commitments on a daily basis.

  • Maintains chain of custody documentation, ensuring the validity of samples.
  • Performs wet chemical and biological laboratory tests to determine treatment plant regulatory compliance, plant process control feedback, and pretreatment conditions of wastewater.
  • Performs standardization of equipment and quality control testing to assure that test results are accurate and reliable.
  • Analyzes and reports data generated through testing, to conform to regulations and to provide a better understanding of the test results.
  • Reads and interprets technical material, such as operating procedures and instructions, regulatory policy documentation, and current research relevant to my position.
  • Maintains equipment, reagents, and media stocks to ensure the proper functioning of the laboratory.
  • It requires on-call work, weekends, and holidays on occasion.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other related sciences, with one year of experience as a laboratory technician in an environmental science field or wet chemical laboratory analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires Wastewater Laboratory Analyst Certification or must obtain certification within twelve (12) months of employment. A valid driver's license is desired. Additional Requirements Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post-offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
