CTG is seeking to fill a Microbiology Technician/Associate Scientist opening for our client in Pleasanton, CA. Location: Pleasanton, CA Duration: 6 months Duties: Execute a variety of microbiological laboratory experiments, ranging from simple to complex, in collaboration with other technicians and scientists Support formulation development and method development initiatives across multiple business units Prepare microbiological media, execute routine and specialized testing, and contribute to new test method development and validation Analyze experimental data and collaborate with scientists to evaluate and present results that inform project decisions Maintain laboratory functionality through routine upkeep, maintenance, and ordering of equipment and supplies Continuously seek improvements to enhance laboratory efficiency and capabilities Contribute to project discussions, share knowledge, and present findings to cross-functional teams Remain informed of basic scientific advancements and integrate best practices into daily work Actively participate in the microbiology community, supporting standardized practices and promoting safe, ethical lab operations Skills: Strong foundation in microbiological techniques, especially in surface sanitization and disinfection Proficiency in preparing media, executing microbial assays, and analyzing biological data Ability to independently manage laboratory activities and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally Strong verbal and written communication skills Skilled in data documentation, analysis, and reporting Experience: Hands-on laboratory experience in microbiology or a related scientific field Experience with laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and data analysis in a regulated or research environment Previous experience working in a collaborative, team-based R&D setting is highly preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field is required Associate degrees or relevant certifications with equivalent laboratory experience may also be considered Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
