Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing efficient, scalable, and environmentally benign chemical processes of synthetic intermediates and target compounds. Working within highly matrixed, multi-disciplinary teams, the successful candidate will lead synthetic investigations, process development and scale-up activities targeting novel OLED materials that are key components of state-of-the-art display technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Independently generate hypotheses, and / execute experimental work to prepare assigned targets.
- Optimize synthetic processes and individual steps therein to improve overall the overall efficiency of synthesis.
- Develop and apply crystallization, distillation, and/or other purification methods to isolate pure process intermediates or final products.
- Establish in-process controls to result robust chemical processes.
- Apply DoE and QbD methods for process optimization.
- Apply PAT tools to design, analyze and control manufacturing processes.
- Scale-up intermediates and final products up to multi-kilogram quantities.
- Identify critical process parameters which affect critical quality attributes.
- Clearly record experimental observations within the electronic notebook per published SOPs.
- Provide oral and written updates to as requested
- Characterize compounds with little to no supervision.
- Attend all relevant safety training and follow published SOPs

- PhD in Chemistry

Annual compensation range: $95k-$110k negotiable plus bonus
