Sr. Process Development Engineer

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to design and execute process development plans, including Design of Experiments (DoE) and optimization strategies, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
  • Drive root cause analysis and resolution of complex process issues through comprehensive data mapping and statistical analysis.
  • Develop and maintain visibility into key performance indicators such as project status, process capability metrics, SPC (Statistical Process Control), and project pipeline health.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and justify capital investments to support process improvements and technology upgrades.
  • Coordinate automation initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce variability, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Production and Planning teams to achieve On-Time-To-Plan (OTTP) performance and meet financial targets, including yield enhancement and scrap reduction.
  • Support the qualification and integration of new materials, equipment, and technologies into high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to drive operational excellence.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and updates to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Participate in and support additional projects as needed, contributing technical expertise and project management skills to ensure successful execution
  • Bachelors, or advanced degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Industrial engineering, Statistical or equivalent.
  • 5+ Experience in semi-conductor advanced manufacturing process, process data analysis, MLCC fabrication and process related failure analysis experience preferred
  • Strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a deep commitment to operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with ceramic capacitor process and characterization, including but not limited to mylar tape casting, screen printing, firing, viscosity, ceramic capacitor electrical testing will be plus.
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing engineering techniques, i.e. D.O.E., JMP, Six Sigma and statistical analysis.
  • Experience in project management
  • Demonstrated experience deploying lean methodologies and process controls
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., data analysis, pivot tables, macros).

Knowles is committed to providing a competitive and fair total compensation package for all employees.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting pay for this role is targeted to be between $100,000 and $120,000 per year.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
