Are you passionate about food science and innovation? We are seeking an Assistant Scientist to join our Technical Services team. In this hands-on lab role, you'll help develop new enzyme-based applications for food products, support customer projects, and play a key role in bringing innovative solutions to market.

Pay: 55K-60K DOE

Location: Elgin, IL

Schedule: M-F normal business hours

Responsibilities

Conduct lab experiments to support new product development and improve customer formulations

Assist in creating at least two new food applications each year

Provide scientific data for use in webinars, technical documents, and marketing materials

Help design and test new products from concept through commercialization

Support customer needs by responding to technical requests and participating in pilot trials

Collaborate with research institutions and university labs

Maintain lab equipment, organize workspace, and ensure safety and compliance

Document findings in lab notebooks and present results clearly

Submit timely customer visit reports and monthly activity summaries

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in food science, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science field

Experience with lab equipment like HPLC, GC, or spectrophotometers is a plus!

Strong hands-on laboratory experience

Highly organized with strong time management abilities
