- Test the semi-finished casing physical parameters (BDG, DFW, centering and stretch burst) on 42 routine positions each 8 hours plus start-ups and re-checks.
- Check and report on dye loading measurements (12-18 positions every 8 hours) and report results to CEDA and distribution.
- Manually enter test results (like the Bone Dry measurements, PH readings, acid concentration, glycerin concentrate, etc) into the computer.
- Measure plant solutions for concentration (acid and caustic), for pH, aerosol content, harness and clarity (glycerin). Test frequency could vary from once daily to 6 times daily.
- Measure pH of semi-finished casing (10 samples daily) and Viscose index including carbon black (10 samples daily).
- Perform casing visual inspections (stripe width and density, sentinel color density and window widths, weak spots, double wall, gels, bubbles etc.). All positions once to 6 times daily.
- Measure the water tub and dye vat pH every 8 hours (11-14 samples).
- Monitor WWTP and the pollution control system off hours.
- Test semi-finished casing for glycerin content (60 samples weekly). Test hold area casing to verify out-of-standard results.
- Perform ultra-filtration testing.
- Run control standard samples (Stretchburst, permeability, casing pH, etc.).
- Attend and participate in monthly department safety meetings for training on specific safety topics.
- Perform testing specific to dialysis runs (ultra-filtrations, casing pH, solution pH, Stretchburst centering etc.). Two positions run for a month or more annually.
- Run mandrel studies and other special requests (competitive special runs, etc.) when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
