As part of our dynamic process engineering team, you'll shape the future of material preparation and battery production across our North American facilities. You'll work at the intersection of chemical and mechanical engineering-translating lab concepts into full-scale production that powers communities.

You'll support facilities across Kansas, Iowa, New York, Georgia, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Arkansas, reporting to our corporate process engineering group. Here, you'll design, implement, and optimize process improvements that drive our push toward manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage capital projects from concept to execution
  • Analyze and improve battery manufacturing processes-boosting efficiency, productivity, and waste reduction
  • Design production lines layouts in AutoCAD to streamline production and reduce costs
  • Conduct lab trials, pilot tests, and DOE studies to validate new processes
  • Serve as a hands-on troubleshooting expert, recommending and implementing improvements
  • Develop and execute improvement projects for new and existing equipment
  • Use data-driven models to identify opportunities and enhance manufacturing efficiency
  • Improve uptime and speed without compromising quality or safety
  • Define critical process metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to support design improvements
  • Build strong working relationships with plant teams and vendors
  • Stay current on the latest engineering and industry knowledge
  • Additional responsibilities as neededto support the team and company goals.

Qualifications

Education, Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Competencies, Skills, Knonwledge

  • Solid computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Familiarity with statistical testing and analysis
  • Eagerness to learn project management fundamentals
  • Familiarity with programming languages (Python is a plus) preferred
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies preferred
  • Understanding of PLCs and industrial automation
  • Experience in the battery industry (a plus but not required)

Physcial Demands & Work Environment:

  • This position requires you to be on site at our Alpharetta, GA headquarters office.
  • You'll split your time between office and manufacturing settings. Our battery production involves chemicals, heat, high noise, lead fumes and heavy equipment, so PPE is essential. You'll occasionally work with lead, sulfuric acid and other chemicals and materials-always with the right protection.
  • You must be able to see, hear and speak, able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time, bend, crawl, squat, kneel, climb, able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals, lift 50 pounds from floor level, able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms, able to wear respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Travel: Up to 50%

  • Up to 50% travel may be necessary to fulfill business needs and support various projects and initiatives.
