Chemist I

The Chemist I position is located in Lake County, Illinois, requiring a dedicated professional to work within a good manufacturing practices laboratory. This role involves performing simple to moderately complex laboratory testing to generate results, interpreting data to determine conformance to specifications, and collaborating as a team member in various testing laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and verify various laboratory techniques while adapting to unforeseen technical or logistical challenges.
• Troubleshoot and resolve analytical techniques and instrument issues with an understanding of multiple laboratory techniques and principles.
• Participate actively in team activities and decision-making, including the proactive identification, development, and implementation of improvement plans.
• Manage time effectively to carry out assigned tasks and recommend improvements.
• Identify and independently resolve obstacles to testing completion, ensuring commitments are met despite challenges.
• Take ownership of special projects to support overall laboratory needs and requirements.
• Communicate proactively with supervisor and team members to ensure timely product release.
• Interface with regulatory agencies during audit activities as needed.

• Bachelor's Degree in the sciences with 0-4 years of laboratory experience or Associate degree with at least 3 years of laboratory experience
• Flexibility in shift and workdays
• Good interpersonal, documentation, and communication skills
• Technical competencies: LC, LCMS, GC, GCMS, ICP, Empower, dissolution, IR, titrations, and common wet chemical testing

This position requires working 100% onsite with shifts from Wednesday to Saturday or Sunday to Wednesday on the 2nd shift, comprising four 10-hour shifts. It includes weekend work and requires flexibility in shift and workdays. The work environment is collaborative and may involve interfacing with regulatory agencies during audits. The dress code aligns with laboratory safety and professional standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
