Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee a broad range of laboratory testing in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards
- Assist in supervising daily lab operations, mentoring staff, and addressing escalated technical issues
- Maintain high standards for accuracy and quality control; lead equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Ensure timely and precise reporting of test results for optimal patient outcomes
- Foster clear communication and collaboration across interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Support inventory control, safety, and infection prevention procedures
- Participate in laboratory education initiatives and mentor junior staff members
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field; or 4+ years of relevant experience beyond the minimum requirements
- Experience: At least 3 years of clinical lab experience, with 1 or more years in a leadership or supervisory capacity preferred
- Certification: Must hold a valid certification from one of the following:
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- American Board of Histocompatibility (ABHI)
- American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB)
- Grandfathered HEW Licensee also accepted
