Description
The Senior Environmental Scientist will lead and oversee conducting environmental assessments, supporting environmental compliance efforts, preparing permitting applications and analyzing environmental data for various types of projects, power generation and electrical transmission construction activities, oil & gas activities, renewable projects, industrial sites and water treatment facilities.
Utilize strong regulatory and technical understanding of construction compliance, facility and corporate-level environmental permitting and compliance auditing
Lead and manage the preparation of technical reports including industrial and construction Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Erosion and Sediment Control Plans (ESC Plans), Vegetation and Soil Management Plans (VSMPs), Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, Facility Response Plans (FRPs), Hazardous waste management (RCRA), environmental field studies and environmental compliance training.
Prepare a wide variety of permitting applications such as storm water, floodplain, land use and local permits and complying with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Clean Water Act (CWA) and other local environmental regulations.
Lead environmental site investigations, support erosion control efforts and subsurface soil sampling.
Establish, build, and maintain client relationships.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Water Quality, Geology, Biology, Soil Science, Environmental Engineering or a related natural science degree from an accredited program required.
At least 8 years of related professional experience, consulting experience highly preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
Experience overseeing environmental site assessment methods.
Experience overseeing environmental compliance and compliance audits.
Experience overseeing environmental permitting process.
Working knowledge of ArcGIS.
Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
