Laboratory Technician (Psych/Neuro)

What We're Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Psychology/Neuroscience) to support the mission and vision of the University within the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience. As a technician, an expertise and technical skill set in the following are required: rodent addiction self-administration and seeking behavioral paradigms, intracranial surgical procedures, jugular catheter surgery, perfusion and tissue collection, perform histological and biological assays on tissues collected from experimental animals, microscopy, record and assist in data entry and analysis using specific computer software programs.

A Bachelors Degree and one year of relevant work experience is required. Two years of relevant work experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do

• Overseeing daily laboratory procedures
  • Ordering supplies
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Provide training to incoming volunteers
  • Assisting in animal care when required
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
• Ability to comply with university policies
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
