Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and implementing any functions,projects, or procedures associated with the LIS. Implements quality standards and provides oversight of sectionprocessesto achieve excellent outcome and quality patient care. As scheduled, performs Laboratory testing on patient and controlsamples, and/or prepares blood components for transfusion. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standardoperating procedures. This knowledge includes the use of specialized analytical instrumentation, clinical correlation of testresults, quality control requirements, and preventative maintenance. Maintains department readiness for regulatoryinspections and compliance requirements. Maintains department policy and procedure manuals in accordance withhospital policy. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process through professional development, continuingeducation, data collection and evaluation, and quality assurance. Develops and maintains orientation, training andcompetency tools and ensures compliance.Participates in data collection and analysis as requested by management. Maximizes efficiency in section operations.Exhibits willingness to resolve problems as they arise.This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC- Anaheim RegionalMedical Center and AHMC Inc. QualificationsEDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCEEarned a doctoral or bachelors degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medicaltechnology from an accredited institution or Post-baccalaureate degree certificate.Two years experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in an acute care laboratory preferred.
