Salary : Up to $29.00 ($26.00hr plus $3.00hr shift differential)

Position Summary
The Chemist I plays a vital role in supporting Quality Control laboratory operations by performing a range of analytical testing procedures. This position ensures all laboratory testing is completed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), United States Pharmacopeia (USP), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Accurately record raw data, analyze results, perform calculations, and interpret findings.
  • Assist in the investigation and documentation of out-of-specification (OOS) results.
  • Ensure all testing is executed in compliance with applicable GLP, GMP, USP, and internal SOPs.
  • Maintain laboratory reagents and supplies, including inventory management, MSDS documentation, proper PPE usage, and safe disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Actively promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within the lab environment.
  • Support ongoing quality initiatives, including Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and related follow-ups.
  • Handle potentially hazardous chemicals in accordance with safety procedures and training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Quality.

Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency with personal computers and analytical software to enter, analyze, and report laboratory data.
  • Understanding of chemical safety protocols and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Experience with standard analytical laboratory techniques and equipment, including pH measurement, viscosity, specific gravity, and infrared spectroscopy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain focused and perform high-quality work under pressure or with shifting priorities.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds as needed.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor s degree in chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline is required.
