Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern

Where will you work:

New Wales Manufacturing Facility at 3095 Highway 640 Mulberry, FL 33860

A Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to special projects and will assist other engineers on major projects and process engineering. Projects will focus on improving facility efficiency and final product quality. January 12 to April 24, 2026

Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week on site.

9/80 schedule if applicable

What will you do?

Day to day work assignments assigned by the supervisor and could include:

  • Troubleshooting to identify root cause of problems in the sulfuric plants

  • Tracing of pipes and equipment in the field to correlate with the existing drawing

  • Assisting with equipment efficiency tests and developing a process flow diagram for a new opportunity

  • Mass and energy balances for various types of chemical processes

  • Computer modeling

  • Assist in Repair Day equipment inspections as required

  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), lab personnel, and contractors

  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment

  • Adhering to Mosaics mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

What do you need for this role?

  • Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering

  • Completed Material and Energy Balances class prior to internship/co-op preferable

  • 2.75 GPA or higher

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.

  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and valid drivers license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.

  • Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship

  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.

  • Basic computer skills are required.

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must.

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
