Job Summary:
This position will provide project development support and technical oversight for projects utilizing multiple delivery models including traditional design-bid-build and design-build via Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC). CMTA is looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to assist our clients in developing strong technical solutions during development, design, and construction phases of our work. The individual will serve as the point of contact for the client through all phases and will work with contractors, partners, and our internal team to ensure successful delivery of the project. Below are some of the essential duties and responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development phase including facility assessments, energy audits, energy benchmarking, cost estimating, etc.
  • Develop preliminary and detailed reports, as required, to communicate recommended solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to the client
  • Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications
  • Direct the Request for Proposal (RFP) and/or bidding process in collaboration with construction team
  • Work with construction team to ensure smooth construction period for the client
  • Work with internal teams to improve our development and construction processes
  • Collect and accurately enter data (utility bills and/or other monitored energy consumption).
  • Utilize customized energy software application to store and report client energy usage and efficiency data.
  • Prepare energy related reports utilizing energy consumption, budget, and efficiency data.
  • Track and record daily and monthly trends in the natural gas, heating fuel, and electricity markets.
  • Understand and operate industry databases such as Utilities’ Eligible Customer Lists and EPA Portfolio Manager.
  • Support other team members’ Client Management & Business Development activities.
  • Attend applicable client meetings & trade shows with other team members.
  • Interaction with clients via email, phone, and in person meetings.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications required):

  • 7+ years with Consulting Engineering firm or Facility/Energy Auditing firm
  • Strong background in Building and Energy systems
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites (must hold valid driver’s license)
  • Proven ability to work successfully on a team and listen carefully
  • Desire to produce quality work and grow professionally in the development, engineering & energy fields
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Proven ability to maintain excellent integrity and ethical standards within role
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as project schedules and deadlines require
