Research Associate in Genetics of Psychiatric Disorders

The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of neuroscience. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include designing and conducting experimental studies to investigate the brain mechanisms underlying pain and drug addiction. This includes employing advanced neuroscience techniques such as rodent behavioral assays, immunohistochemistry, in vivo calcium imaging, optogenetics, chemogenetics, and single-cell RNA sequencing. The position also involves analyzing complex datasets, interpreting findings, and preparing scientific manuscripts and grant proposals.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to to contribute significantly to translational neuroscience and the Corder lab's mission.
